9/11/2009 - Jordan reaches new heights with place in Hall of Fame

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) -- Michael Jordan's thank you list went well beyond friends and family.

There was the coach who cut him. The player who dissed him. The media who doubted him.

Anyone who ever provided Jordan with motivation to become a better player -- perhaps the greatest one ever.

8/27/2009 - Phil Jackson interview about Michael Jordan's induction in the HOF

Excerpts from Phil Jackson's interview:

"He was perhaps the most recognizable athlete in the world for a decade,” Jackson said of Jordan. "That he brought the game of basketball and the NBA to that level will never be eclipsed. It’s a real honor for Michael to go in, and for the Hall of Fame to have him in. They may have to make another building or build a new wing to highlight all of the things that Michael was able to do over his career."

"I don’t think anybody will ever really touch what Michael has done for the game," he said when asked if Kobe or LeBron James could ever vie for Jordan’s "best-ever" title. "They may be able to break a record he had or maybe win more championships. Michael was 28 when he won his first championship, and LeBron could win one before he reaches that age and have a chance at winning more than six. But Michael’s image as a player will always stand and his greatness will never be superseded."

6/25/2009 - Jordan interested in Bobcats

The Charlotte Bobcats are for sale and Michael Jordan is interested.

First, he has to put an ownership group together.

Addressing the issue on Thursday night for the first time since the news last month that majority owner Bob Johnson is seeking to sell, Jordan shied away from going into detail about his plans. But Jordan, who holds a minority stake in the team and runs basketball operations, made it clear he'd like to gain majority control. more...

6/22/2009 - Jordan sizes up prospects Williams, Henderson

Terrence Williams was so nervous at seeing Michael Jordan he was sweating profusely -- while stretching. Gerald Henderson was drier, but had to endure relentless grief about being a Duke guy.

6/12/2009 - Jordan, Roethlisberger, Timberlake play Bethpage

Michael Jordan is human. He's normal. He's just like anybody else.

When it comes to golf, Jordan insists all that is true. He played in the U.S. Open Challenge with Ben Roethlisberger and Justin Timberlake on Friday at Bethpage Black, and through two holes, he was trailing the contest winner who finished out their foursome, a Phoenix police lieutenant.

Jordan hooked his first tee shot way left and had to take a drop because of an unplayable lie. He triple-bogeyed No. 1 and double-bogeyed the second hole. more...
